MVR Micro Deep Face Grooving Bar Overview
The MVR series is a precision-ground solid carbide micro tool designed for deep face grooving in small bores and restricted internal features. Its extended cutting profile provides access to deeper groove positions, while dual coolant holes direct coolant closer to the cutting zone to support chip evacuation, temperature control and consistent machining performance.
Model Identification Guide
Select the suitable MVR model according to groove width, machining depth, minimum bore diameter, working reach, shank diameter and coolant requirements.

Key Configuration
Machinable Materials
MVR solid carbide deep face grooving bars can be applied to steel, stainless steel, cast iron and selected non-ferrous materials. Cutting parameters and coolant pressure should be adjusted according to material hardness, groove depth and machine stability.
| Material | Typical Applications |
|---|---|
| Acero al carbono | Shafts, sleeves and precision mechanical components requiring deep face grooves. |
| Acero aleado | Wear-resistant components requiring stable groove dimensions and repeatability. |
| Acero inoxidable | Medical, electronic and corrosion-resistant precision-turned components. |
| Hierro fundido | Small housings, sleeves and components with recessed face-groove features. |
| Non-Ferrous Materials | Aluminum, copper and other materials with suitable cutting geometry and coating. |
Key Product Advantages

The extended cutting profile provides controlled access to deeper face-groove positions and restricted features inside small bores.
Two coolant holes direct coolant closer to the cutting zone to support chip evacuation, reduce heat accumulation and improve machining stability.
The integral solid carbide body provides increased rigidity for deep-groove machining and helps control vibration at extended working lengths.
Precision-ground geometry supports consistent groove width, controlled cutting action and repeatable dimensional performance.
Groove width, groove depth, working reach, minimum bore, shank diameter, coolant-hole layout, coating and marking can be customized.
Why Choose MVR Deep Face Grooving Bars
| Característica | Conventional Tools | MVR Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Groove Reach | Standard geometry may have limited access to deeper face grooves. | Deep-reach profile provides access to recessed groove positions. |
| Coolant Delivery | External coolant may not reach the cutting zone effectively. | Dual coolant holes deliver coolant closer to the cutting edge. |
| Rigidez | Extended tools may generate vibration during deep grooving. | Solid carbide construction improves stability at longer reach. |
| Groove Consistency | Heat and chip accumulation may affect surface finish. | Precision-ground geometry and directed coolant support consistent results. |

Tool Nomenclature & Selection Guide
Select the suitable MVR micro deep face grooving bar according to groove width, groove depth, minimum machining diameter, working reach, shank diameter and coolant requirements.
| Selection Item | Descripción | Selection Requirement |
|---|---|---|
| MVR | Micro Deep Face Grooving Bar | For deep face grooves in small bores |
| Groove Width | Cutting-edge width | Match the required finished groove width |
| Groove Depth | Maximum radial or axial machining depth | Confirm sufficient neck and head clearance |
| Working Reach | Effective tool access length | Use the shortest reach that clears the component |
| Diámetro del vástago | Tool clamping diameter | Match the holder and machine-tool setup |
Dimensions & Available Sizes
Confirm the groove position, machining depth, minimum bore, tool reach, shank diameter and coolant connection before selecting a standard MVR model.
More groove widths, groove depths, working reaches, shank diameters and coolant-hole configurations are available according to drawings and machining requirements.
Deep Face Grooving Application Range
| Aplicación | Selection Focus |
|---|---|
| Deep Face Grooves | Confirm groove width, machining depth and cutting-edge clearance. |
| Recessed Groove Positions | Confirm working reach, shoulder clearance and retraction path. |
| Small-Bore Components | Check minimum bore diameter and tool-head clearance. |
| Heat-Sensitive Grooving | Use suitable coolant pressure and verify delivery through both coolant holes. |
Recommended Selection Parameters
Machining Guidelines
Follow these setup and machining recommendations to improve cutting stability, groove accuracy and tool life when using solid carbide micro face grooving bars.
Securely clamp the tool before machining and keep the tool overhang as short as possible to reduce vibration and cutting-edge damage.
Set the cutting edge on the spindle centerline or up to 0.05 mm below it. Do not position the cutting edge above the centerline.
For face-grooving operations, begin at the larger groove diameter and progress toward the smaller diameter.
Apply suitable coolant and maintain effective chip evacuation to prevent chip packing, edge chipping and poor groove finish.
Use the tool for controlled radial face-grooving operations. Avoid lateral cutting or side turning unless the tool geometry is specifically designed for it.
Where machining conditions allow, begin with a cutting speed of 40 m/min or higher and keep the feed rate within 0.05 mm/rev.
Parameter Note: Actual cutting parameters should be adjusted according to the workpiece material, groove diameter, tool overhang, coating, coolant supply and machine rigidity.
