HY DLC-Coated 3-Flute Square End Mill for Aluminum

HY DLC-coated 3-flute solid carbide square end mills feature aluminum-specific cutting geometry, a low-friction DLC coating, polished flutes and open chip space to help reduce aluminum adhesion, built-up edge and improve chip evacuation. The square-end profile is suitable for side walls, stepped surfaces and straight slots. Standard sizes cover Ø1–Ø20 mm, with selected extended-length options, a standard 45° helix and optional 35° helix.

Are you a manufacturer?
Yes. HY Cutting Tools has more than 15 years of cutting-tool manufacturing experience. We use WALTER 5-axis grinding equipment and ZOLLER measuring equipment to support standard and custom solid carbide end mill production.
How do you keep bulk orders and repeat batches consistent?
We work to the confirmed tool specification, with incoming material checks, in-process measurement and final inspection. Cutting diameter, flute length, shank, helix, square-end geometry and edge condition are checked against the order requirements. Inspection scope and any critical acceptance criteria are agreed before production; repeat orders use the recorded configuration.
What makes this DLC-coated aluminum end mill different from an uncoated version?
This series combines 3-flute aluminum-cutting geometry with a low-friction DLC surface to help reduce aluminum adhesion and built-up edge. It offers customers a coated option alongside polished uncoated tools. Selection depends on the alloy, operation and lubrication; coating alone does not establish a fixed tool-life improvement.
Which sizes and helix angles can I include in an order?
The listed diameter range is Ø1–Ø20 mm, with standard and selected long-series dimensions shown in the Specifications tab. The standard helix is 45°, with 35° available as an option for confirmed configurations. Specify cutting diameter D, flute length L1, shank diameter d, overall length L and quantity for each item.
What application information can you provide for my customers?
We can help review the selected tool configuration and starting cutting conditions using the available application information. Aluminum is the primary application; selected copper and other non-ferrous materials require review. Side milling, step milling and slotting should be matched to flute length, engagement and chip clearance. Ramping or plunge entry requires confirmation of the exact end geometry.

Can I combine different sizes, and what is the minimum order quantity?
Send a line-by-line list of sizes, helix angles and quantities. Mixed-size supply, minimum quantities and pricing are confirmed by item and configuration. This helps you plan an initial range without assuming the same minimum applies to every standard or custom size.
Can I request samples or a small trial order before buying in bulk?
Yes. Sample availability, quantity and terms are confirmed for the requested configuration. Agree the sample specification before testing, then record the workpiece, holder, overhang, cutting conditions and acceptance criteria. Use the approved sample specification as the basis for the subsequent bulk order.
What dimensions and geometry can you customize?
We can review cutting diameter, flute length, overall length, shank, neck reach, helix and edge preparation against your drawing or reference tool. Feasibility, dimensional requirements, DLC configuration, quantity and lead time are confirmed before production. A tool code or drawing is sufficient to start the review; application details help where geometry changes are needed.
Can you supply my logo, product codes and private-label packaging?
Yes. Laser marking, customer tool codes, barcode or SKU labels and private-label packaging can be reviewed. Send the artwork, label content, packaging requirements and quantities. Will my specifications be saved and kept confidential?
Confirmed tool dimensions, helix, coating, marking and packaging are recorded in our order system for tracking and repeat orders. Access is restricted to authorized staff, and customer drawings and order details are not shared with other customers. Revisions are reviewed and confirmed before production.
How do you confirm delivery time and protect the tools in transit?
Stock status, production lead time and planned dispatch are confirmed by size, configuration and quantity. Tools are individually protected, labeled and packed with suitable cushioning; bulk export packing is agreed for the shipment. Shipping transit time is quoted separately from production and dispatch timing.
What support do you provide if a bulk order has a quality issue?
Contact us with the order reference, tool code, affected quantity, photos and relevant inspection or machining details. We promptly review the records and evidence to establish the cause and responsibility, then actively coordinate replacement, rework or another agreed remedy. Batch information helps us review the scope of the issue.
What do you need to quote a standard or custom order?
For standard tools, send the size list, quantities, helix preference and any marking or packaging requirements. For custom tools, add a drawing or reference tool and critical dimensions. If application selection is needed, include the material and machining requirements. Detailed end-user cutting data is not required to begin a standard-size quotation.
