Steel Chamfering Application Guidance
- Angle Selection: Match the 60°, 90° or 120° included angle to the required chamfer or groove profile.
- Flute Selection: Confirm whether the selected diameter is supplied in 3- or 4-flute configuration before ordering.
- Toolholding: Use a clean, low-runout precision holder to maintain consistent chamfer dimensions.
- Tool Overhang: Use the shortest practical overhang to maintain rigidity during edge machining.
- Coating Selection: Match the coating to the steel grade, hardness and machining conditions rather than using one coating for every application.
